Ash Baskets

     All of our Ash Basket products are 100% made from real authentic Black Ash strips. It all starts by harvesting a mature Black Ash tree in the spring season. These tree's often grow in swampy wet areas with poor drainage in the soil.

    When the tree is harvested the main trunk is primarily used for this process, cutting them at various lengths depending on the log, and strip size needed. With little to no knots. 

      The next process would be Pounding of the Ash log. Once the strips are pounded out and formed through shapers, these strips are then stored and cured or dyed, then can be used for weaving of the baskets.
